Im very excited to report this news for two reasons. First being that I live in Los Angeles and will get to visit this place and second, because I’ve been calling for something like this for sometime now and I’m excited to see it happen, if done properly, but ill get into that in another post.

Located in The Oaks shopping center, the Muvico Entertainment theater will be using the brand spanking new Sony 4K SXRD Digital Projectors for its movies. From there on, 16 Sony LCD televisions will be in the snack-bars with a series of PlayStation 3 units hooked up in the digital playroom.

Besides building an enjoyable experience that well have customers think Sony when they see the quality of the projection during the film, the idea is to further spread that once people are out of the film as well and are dazzled by the LCD and PS3 quality. According to the NY Times, a senior Sony exec says that they might even use the theater for future PlayStation 3 game launches and allow the attendees to use the Movie Screen to even play some rounds of the respected game. Hell Yea?
