Sony announced yesterday that they will be starting a new PlayStation Network event this summer. PSN PLAY is a yearly-purchase program akin to Microsoft’s Xbox Live Summer of Arcade. A total of four games are featured with one releasing per week. Purchase of a game comes with additional free DLC as well as a PS3 theme (if you pre-order by the Thursday before each game’s release). In addition, if a person buys all four games before September 19, they will receive a code to download the much-anticipated PSN exclusive Payday: The Heist.

The games featured in this year’s PSN Play include:

• Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition (August 23)
• PSN PLAY Exclusive DLC: Unlock Boss Character Gill Day One and SFIII Theme.
• The Baconing (August 30)
• PSN PLAY Exclusive DLC: Additional Character – Roesha and The Baconing tatic theme.
• BloodRayne: Betrayal (September 6)
• PSN PLAY Exclusive DLC: PS Home Avatar Item, exclusive dynamic theme, and a static theme.
• Renegade Ops (September 13)
• PSN PLAY Exclusive DLC: Vehicle & Character Pack (Two vehicles and one character), and a static theme.

All four games featured will have a price tag of $14.99 and PayDay: The Heist will cost $19.99.
