Fans of the recently released Mortal Kombat (2011) can go on a trip down memory lane with tomorrow’s release of the much rumored and long awaited Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection for download on the PSN. The game collection will include Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Hit the jump for more information and a trailer of the game.

Over the last 20 years, the Mortal Kombat franchise has continued to stand the test of time; with developers always finding new ways to re-invent the brand. It was also the franchise that started a lot of changes within the game industry.

The series, at that time, was one of the first to perfect the use of digital actors in a video game. The original Mortal Kombat single-handedly called for the creation of the ESRB, a rating system that classifies games that would be inappropriate for children. Mortal Kombat 2 took everything that made the first one a hit, and added more characters, more fatalities, babalities, friendships, secret characters and a deeper fighting system.

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 added a run feature, more new characters, fatalities, environments, secret kodes, and brought back fan favorites Scorpion, Sub-zero (masked), Mileena and Kitana.

All three games included in the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection are the complete versions of the originals and have the ability to be played online as well.
