For a while now, SONY has been steadily releasing PSOne classics to the PlayStation Network. PlayStation fans however, have been asking for a different batch of back catalog titles to be released on the network; PlayStation 2 games.
Well it seems like the company has finally answered gamers’ requests and is readying the first batch of PS2 games on the PSN. SONY announced earlier today that they have plans to make PS2 games available via digital download later this week.
Hit the jump for the list of PS2 games coming to the PlayStation Network.
To make the deal all the sweeter, the first batch of games are niche/cult classics that never quite reached mainstream success in the west. The games include:
- Odin Sphere
- GrimGrimoire
- God Hand (One of my favorite PS2 games. I recommend it to everyone who likes offbeat action games.)
- Maximo: Ghosts To Glory
- Ring of Red
SONY has said that the games will come to the PSN on the next update, which comes this Tuesday October 3, 2011.

What PlayStation 2 game would you like to be added as part of the PS2Classics Collection on the PSN?
