Sony RX100MI Leaked, Includes Tilting LCD and Wi-Fi

Sony RX100MI

The Sony RX100 is one amazing compact camera. In fact, we were so impressed by it that we decided to buy one, just so we could review it and in doing so, we called the Sony RX100 “nothing short of a revelation.” So how can Sony followup the 20.2 megapixel camera which features a full 1-inch image sensor with 1.8 f-stop? If you say more megapixels then you’d be wrong. Thanks to a recent leak from the devices Japanese manual, we’ve come to learn some of the tidbits that will be going into the Sony RX100MI, the next generation in the series and so far, we’re quite pleased.

There gets to be a point where more and more megapixels in your pocket don’t equate to a better shooting experience and I believe the Sony RX100 has reached that point. That’s not to say that the next generation unit won’t offer more megapixels, but that we don’t know that it will and frankly, it doesn’t need them. However, that doesn’t mean an excellent camera can’t be further improved upon and that’s exactly what Sony will be doing.

The Sony RX100MI is set to feature some additional enhancements like an tilting LCD screen, found on the Sony NEX line of cameras. This new feature alone will help would be owners get shots that they otherwise might miss. The LCD will also feature a light sensor to help adjust the screens brightness automatically. For those looking to get shots in the dark or fight off some of the sun, a hot shoe will be included this time around which will allow for a larger flash or other accessories like a viewfinder or microphone.

Being built for the digital age, Wi-Fi will also be included this time around which will allow you to directly import photos to your computer or social media sites like Facebook. This also means that the camera can be controlled from your iOS or Android smartphone. It’s expected that the Sony RX100MI will be unveiled later this month.
