At SRN, we’re up to no good in the best possible way. We’ve always strived to give you the best Sony and PlayStation news and with every edition to our team, we get closer to that realization. With Brien Bell as our newest Associate PlayStation Editor, our coverage of your favorite gaming platform has been more thorough than ever. Of course, SRN also offers you some of the most unique film reviews from the movies you want to see, thanks to Joel Dale. With SRN on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, and YouTube to name a few and a great core team already, what’s our next move you say? Bring on more talented members of our community of course. To that end, I’m happy to announce that Heather Atkinson (@gogoroflcopter) and Sam Castanon (@Doc_Gamer) are joining our ranks. While I won’t get into details about what the two will bring to the team, I can tell you a little about each and their talents.
A few words from Heather:
Greetings, readers! My friends call me Heather, but most of the internet knows me as Gogoroflcopter, or Gogo. I am beyond excited to be joining the SRN family. I can’t wait to get to know everyone and contribute to such a wonderful site! I am a huge gamer and technology lover. I have been hooked on video games ever since I got my hands on a GameBoy and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Naturally, loving technology comes with loving video games and over the years I have found myself surrounded by Sony products.
I made the jump into the gaming industry when the lovely Mana Drake found me blogging about my love for Sony and I began working with GamePro/IDG Entertainment’s GameGirl.com. Since then I have worked with several gaming blogs and podcasts. Through all of this I discovered my love for making and editing videos and began my own YouTube page dedicated to technology! I am so thrilled to be able to bring my love for video content and writing to SonyRumors. I look forward to sharing my work with you all, and am so thankful for this opportunity.
A little about Sam:
I have been gaming since Atari 2600 was released. Space Invaders was my game and technically my 1st shooter. I was the kid that always toted his Turbo Graphics 16 Turbo Express around with him playing Devil’s Crush Pinball because I believed I was going to be the next Digital “Tommy.” I won my 1st game competition in 1998 having the fastest time in the world for Resident Evil 1 and 2 back to back at my local GameWorks, before games where seriously tracked. SoCom later became a big part of my gaming life. I even went on to compete as part of the ATF clan (Avenge The Fallen). Sony took notice of me and asked me to be part of a groundbreaking experience, the 1st console-only gamer reality show: The Tester. As a response to the fans the show “Replay with Doc” in the PlayStation Home community theater was born.
