Deep Down was one of the earliest titles seen for the PlayStation 4, initially shown off at the February 20 reveal. This week at Tokyo Game Show, more and more information has been revealed about this brilliant looking dungeon crawler.

At Sony’s pre-TGS press conference, Yoshinori Ono of Capcom revealed that Deep Down would be exclusive to the PlayStation 4, and coming out in the launch window for the system in Japan. Ono-san also showed off new gameplay footage for the game, unveiling the first look at the “current day” setting of 2094 New York City, as well as some impressive water physics and dynamic lighting. Deep Down is being produced by Capcom Online Games and will be playable in co-op, allowing others to join your raids and boss battles.

As if that weren’t enough, on stage this week at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show booth, Yoshinori Ono revealed–and Shuhei Yoshida confirmed–that Deep Down would be a free-to-play experience on the PS4. Yoshida announced in that same tweet that an open beta will be coming “near the launch of PS4 in Japan;” no word was given on whether this beta would be coming to other territories. This new IP is just another example of Sony embracing different models of pricing, as it joins titles like Blacklight: RetributionWar ThunderPlanetside 2, and DC Universe Online in the free-to-play market.
