Late last month, we reported how the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is likely headed to Verizon. Sony has been clear that they want to expand their mobile presence and work with carrier partners. With Verizon being one of the top players in the US, bringing their smartphones and tablets on big red’s network seems like a no brainer. Even earlier that month, Sony themselves accidentally leaked a photo of the company’s flagship Xperia Z2 smartphone with a Verizon logo though as expected, the company’s stance was that it was purely a internal mockup. Right.
Now, we have another promotional leak and it’s their flagship Android tablet with the Verizon logo which can be seen above.
As you can tell from the image above, the tablet in question is the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet sporting a Verizon 4G LTE logo. While the source of the leak is credible, what makes the rumor slightly harder to digest is that in early April, the FCC approved the Xperia Z2 Tablet for US markets on AT&T’s network. For those not familiar, any device with wireless functionality in the US must be approved by the FCC prior to its release.
This of course does not mean that such a device is in works or that it’s not ready for Verizon. Apple devices famously never appear on the FCC till their release date so Sony may simply be doing a better job at covering their trail. On the other hand, we’ve seen the Xperia Z2 Tablet appear for AT&T’s network months back and we’ve yet to see it actually materialize.

Do you think the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet will actually come out on Verizon?
