New Xperia M Update 15.4.A.1.9/15.5.A.1.5 is Rolling out Now (Update)

The Xperia M update (Dual version too) that we seen coming also known as “feature release 2” is now rolling out. The C1904 (Canada, US, India, parts of Australia and more) is already offering the update while the global C1905 version shows that various European and Asian countries are the first to get it including Poland, Italy, Malaysia and Indonesia.

This update has been long anticipated, given that the 4.3 uplift brought a very elegant interface along the lines of the 2014 Xperias but a few bugs too.

Themes are working! We’ve tested a variety of themes including the FIFA 2014 and Spiderman 2 themes, check out the gallery and download them with direct links from Google Play.

15.4.A.1.9 Rolling Out Xperia M

Update – Xperia M Dual owners can update to version 15.5.A.1.5 which brings the same enhancements as the single version update.

Xperia M Dual Update 4.3 QMRII

The single version of the new Xperia M Update 15.4.A.1.9 is out now and M Dual owners will find version 15.5.A.1.5 rolling out for them too.

The Sony Mobile update page shows the updates are available now. Rollouts tend to be country and network dependent so we’ve compiled a list of countries where owners are reporting the update as available.

  • Enhanced user experience
  • Improved battery life
  • Software performance improvements

You can update via Sony PC Companion for PC users or Bridge for Mac.

Changes noted by users:

– Themes work!

– Less lag throughout the interface, smoothness comparable to launch software of 4.1

– Contacts/phonebook opens faster, like a normal system app

Some glitches still present:

– GPS lags sometimes

– Changing default keyboard can trigger a reboot

– The volume bar becomes a black box
