As Sony has said time and time again, PlayStation Now is a beta. That beta tag extends beyond the technological aspect like server tweaks and games offered to the business model that surrounds the gaming rental initiative. Despite my argument that a 4-hour rental that’s priced between $2.99 to $4.99 with a majority of titles leaning towards the $2.99 range is a good deal, many of you disagreed with my sentiment. Now, Sony is tweaking its pricing initiative with certain titles starting at $1.99 for a 4-hour rental.
After the jump, we have a list of the updated titles.
If you’ve got $1.99 to spend and 4 hours of spare time, the following titles can be rented from PlayStation Now:
- Chime Super Deluxe
- Hamilton’s Great Adventure
- Hunter’s Trophy 2: America
- Knytt Underground
- Lumines Supernova
- Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD
- Order Up!!
- Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken
- Saints Row 2
- Sky Fighter
- Space Ace
- Stick it to the Man
If you’re looking for a more long term fix, $9.99 will get you the following games for 90 days:
- All Zombies Must Die!
- Battle Fantasia
- Dead Island
- Dragon’s Lair II: Time Warp
- Papo & Yo
- Retro/Grade
- Skullgirls Encore
- Zombie Tycoon II: Brainhov’s Revenge
It remains unclear if these price ranges are due to outcry from gamers or price tweaks that were factored in or if the change was in the works prior to the launch of the service.
