It’s crazy to think but CES, the worlds largest electronic show is just a week away. In the past, CES has set the stage for big reveals from Sony, including new smartphones, tablets, and drool worthy 4K TV’s. This years CES remains a mystery in many aspects. First, Sony has done a much better job at handling internal leaks while at years past, many products made their way to the internet in some form or fashion prior to their reveal.

The second and the elephant in the room is Sony Electronics future. With consumers heavily favoring Apple and Samsung products and televisions turning into a commodity product with razor thin profits, Sony has been unable to keep pace with its competitors. The one bright spot for the company remains to be PlayStation which has enjoyed enormous success thanks to the PS4. Because a shift in consumer habits and PlayStation remaining the one true growth division, Sony earlier in the year announced a strategic shift which would see them reduce their lineup of smartphones and televisions and instead invest in PlayStation.
