In 2015, Sony is treating home theater enthusiasts to a wide range of 4K TVs that start at just $1,299 for the 43-inch (X830C) and range all the way to the flagship 75-inch X940C. It’s already been confirmed that the XBR lineup will offer HDR later in summer via a software update, but news about the 55-inch variant has been scarce. Now we have some confirmation directly from Sony.

Just last week, we revealed that both the 65X930C and 75X940C would offer HDR support and will be priced at $4,499 and $7,999, respectively. In fact, both models were even shown during CES, but there’s been little news about the 55-inch model. In reaching out to Sony, I received some clarification.

Much like the XBR-65X930C, the XBR-55X930C will offer X-tended Dynamic Range where as the XBR-75X940C will provide X-tended Dynamic Range Pro. Once released in late May, the 55X930C will be exclusive to Europe.
