Sony knows that in order to have a product that’s compelling to consumers, you also need to have a robust ecosystem that surrounds it. For example, alongside the Xperia Z4 Tablet, Sony also unveiled the BKB50 Bluetooth keyboard which, thanks to its dock-like nature, turns the powerful tablet into a notebook of sorts. For phones, things like keyboards are a little less important and even frankly unnecessary, but what do most smartphone owners purchase alongside their new device? A case, of course, and Sony will be launching their new SCR30 Style Cover Window for the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4.
After the jump, all the details on the Sony SCR30 Style Cover Window.
If the design looks at all familiar, that’s because this style of case has been popular on Android and with Samsung users most notably for some time. In fact, though lesser known, Sony made the Style Cover Window SCR24 for the Xperia Z3 as well. Much like its predecessor, the SCR30 Style Cover Window allows you to see just enough of the screen to view notifications and even control your media without having to pull open the case.
As for weight, the case comes in at 40 grams so nothing too hefty for PU leather which is what the case is made from. Once available next month, you can purchase the Sony SCR30 Style Cover Window in brown, black, white, copper, and aqua. One interesting thing to note is the inclusion of a hole for the front facing camera which can be seen in the promotion photo below. All other pictures of the case exclude any hole for the front facing camera which leads me to believe that the additional product pictures, which are just computer renders, may be outdated.
Sony has yet to reveal a price.
