At the beginning of the month, we reported that Sony would be delaying the Xperia Z4 Tablet by one week in the UK. Originally, Sony had hoped to get the Xperia Z4 Tablet in the hands of those who had pre-ordered it by the end of May, but the delay meant that June 5th would be the new arrival date. With June 5th having come and gone, Sony has pushed back the arrival date to June 29th for anybody who pre-orders the powerful tablet.
It’s unclear if those who had an original late May ship date, which was then bumped to June 5th, have receiving their units, or if Sony is delaying orders altogether. There has also been no communication from Sony as to the reason for the delay. It’s easy to speculate that Sony found a last minute defect in units or that there is problem with shipments simply making it out in time. Heck, for all we know, maybe Sony is overwhelmed with demand and they’re simply having a hard time producing enough units. However with units being pushed back by a month, it’s looking rather unlikely that the delay is simply due to shipment problems or demand.
Hopefully Sony is able to stick to the new deadline and this isn’t a sign of a greater problem with the Xperia Z4 Tablet. We’ll be sure to report on any updates as soon as we hear about them.
