Teased yesterday, Sony has officially announced the Xperia C5 Ultra, their latest 6-inch phablet for India. Designed as a high-end mid-grade smartphone, the Xperia C5 Ultra has a lot of features going for it besides its youthful color options which are by no accident. Designed to attract a younger consumer, the Xperia C5 Ultra also provides a 13-megapixel front-facing (same megapixels for the rear shooter) with an LED flash so you can get the most out of your selfies.
After the jump, pricing and a few more details on the C5 Ultra.
The Xperia C5 Ultra has already been priced and dated for Hong Kong and Taiwan but now India, another country with a large youthful population is getting in on the selfie action. Priced at Rs 29,990, the C5 Ultra will available in black, mint, and white which are the same three colors other territories have received. No word yet on an exact release date but I’ve reached to Sony and will update you when I hear back. As a quick recap, the Xperia C5 Ultra offers
- 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 CPU
- Mali-T760 MP2 GPU
- Dual-SIM slots
- 4G LTE
- NFC and Bluetooth 4.1
- Wi-Fi
- A-GPS
Thankfully due to its larger size, Sony was also able to cram a larger battery (2,930mAh) which allows for 14 hours of talk time or an insane 769 hours of standby time. Still, it’s doubtful your phone will be standing still for too long as one of the enticing points of this phone is to take selfies with your friend. Though the internal memory is only pegged at 16Gb, via a microSD card, it can be expanded up to 200GB. It remains doubtful that the Xperia C5 Ultra will be making its way to North America though perhaps Europe may get a release at some point.

Do you think the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra will be a hit in India?
