Partially late to this story and partially on time – Sony has announced the Xperia Z5 Dual and Xperia Z5 Premium Dual for India. The former had an October 23rd release date which means those in India have been able to enjoy the flagship smartphone from Sony for nearly two weeks. The Xperia Z5 Premium Dual, the 4K screened monster device however arrives tomorrow, November 7th.
After the jump, let’s talk color options and prices.
Sony is no stranger to India, having released the Xperia C5 Ultra for the country in September. The Xperia Z5 family however is a bit of a tricker affair, considering their much higher price tag. For comparison, the C5 Ultra is priced at Rs 29,990 while the Z5 family breaks down as such
Xperia Z5 Dual
- Rs. 52,990 (£526, €717, $813)
- Graphite Black, Gold, & Green
Xperia Z5 Premium Dual
- Rs. 62,990 (£626, €852, $967)
- Gold & Chrome
As you can see, that’s a considerably higher priced phone so it will be interesting to see if Indian consumers flock to balk at the high price point. It’s also worth noting that the Z5 Dual lacks the White color option while the Z5 Premium Dual lacks Black.
To help make the price a little more reasonable, like most other countries, Sony is throwing in some free goodies. That includes free Sony Headset MDR-EX31BN (Rs. 5,490) for those who pre-ordered. Everybody else will get a free Quick Charger UCH10, and a free Smart Cover (Rs. 3,500).

Do you think the Xperia Z5 Dual and Xperia Z5 Premium Dual are priced competitively?
