Over the weekend, a small indie film called Star Wars: The Force Awakens came to theaters. Not sure if the film had a wide release or if many people have seen it but if you’re part of the few who did see it and liked it, you now have a chance to pre-order the flick on PSN.
Those interested can pre-order the movie in SD for $14.99 or HD for $19.99 $14.99. All films purchased on PSN are viewable on PSP, PS Vita, PS3, PS4 and PlayStation TVs. It’s likely that once the film approaches its official release on digital and Blu-ray, its price will pull a Lord Vader and riiiissseee.
Now a curious conversation to discuss after the jump.
Anybody else find it odd that services like PSN and iTunes still offer SD versions of movies? Is there anybody out there still rocking an SD TV? And before you say in the workshop or doctor’s offices etc. (and keeping in mind that you haven’t been able to purchase an SD set for many, many years), the question isn’t whether there are still SDTVs in use.
It’s instead that what are the chances that there is a PS3/PS4 or an Apple TV connected to the SD television?
Discuss:
Will you be pre-ordering Star Wars: The Force Awakens on PSN or do you prefer another digital service or physical release like Blu-ray?
