Sony has never been good at keeping secrets and even worse 24-48 hours before their unveiling. I give you the Sony Xperia PP10 with the latter part of the name likely a codename and not the retail branding. Likely to be unveiled tomorrow, the Xperia PP10 will
use the MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) chipset with a 720p display. The new devices will also run Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
From what I can gather, the PP10 is a mid-range device though it’s not clear if it’s here to replace something like the M5 or is an addition to the lineup – though it takes a few specs from the Z5. More details after the jump.
The handset shows what looks like a brushed metal back, although this could just be a plastic effect. The model also has the fingerprint sensor of the Xperia Z5 series and dedicated camera button. It looks like Sony is using slightly newer UI as the lock screen hasn’t been seen before, sliding over the wallpaper underneath
Not sure how this phone will shake out – price being an important factor of it – but I like what I see. It might not be a 4K or even 1080p display but if that 720p display is vibrant and Sony is able to produce a good camera, alongside the fingerprint sensor, they have a phone that can please a lot of would-be buyers.

Where do you think the Xperia PP10 sits in Sony’s mobile lineup?
