Come October, you’ll have a chance to get your hands on virtual reality at a far more affordable price than other rigs which are starting to come to market. Besides the standalone core package, Sony is also planning to release a PlayStation VR bundle which you can read about here. So what exactly does $399 buy you come this fall? Let’s look at what’s inside the box after the jump.
According to Sony, the following (which is also pictured above) is what we’ll get inside of each PlayStation VR core package.
- All contents of the PS VR core bundle:
- PS VR headset
- PS VR cables
- Stereo Headphones
- PlayStation VR Demo Disc
I’ve been trying to determine what exactly comes on the PS VR demo disc but have had little luck so far. It’s worth noting that the demo disc included is different than PlayStation VR Worlds which comes with the bundle and includes five different games. If you’ve caught wind of what’s included in the demo disc, let me know and I’ll be sure to update this article.
It’s also worth noting that while PS VR includes a pair of stereo headphones, you’ll be able to use other pairs you already have. So if you have something better than what Sony is offering, feel free to utilize it. Unfortunately, due to current headset designs, we’re limited to earbud units.
