Sony Mobile is doing something unprecedented for those of in the US and no, they haven’t signed on a carrier partner – I did say unprecedented and not miracle, after all. For the first time in recent history and perhaps a first ever, the entire new range of Sony Mobile products (read Xperia X family) is coming to the United States following in the footsteps of other countries. For those unaware, when we do get new devices from Sony Mobile (and we don’t always get every variant), it tends to be many, many months after their global rollout.
So let’s talk more details shall we?

What’s truly noteworthy here is that the Xperia X and Xperia X Performance will be coming with a free microSD 128GB card. With the 23-megapixel rear-facing and 13-megapixel front-facing shooters on those two phones, the extra storage will surely be a welcome addition for owners. After all, aren’t our phones really cameras with apps and an annoying feature that lets people call you? As for the Xperia XA and XA Ultra (pictured above), a free microSD 64GB card is offered.
It’s worth noting that those who pre-order the Xperia X and Xperia X Performance will also receive a UCH10 Quick Charger which, with a 10-minute charge, will give you up to 5.5 hours of usage time. It’s unclear how long that free offer will last. Like the Xperia Z5, it’s expected that Sony Mobile will remove the ability to use the fingerprint sensor through software as the hardware will still be provided.
For those brave enough, you can likely flash your Xperia X and Xperia X Performance with firmware released in another country (again like you could with the Z5) and regain that functionality.
