Following the massive success of the Xperia X in the US which caused it to receive a price cut after just 10 days on store shelves, Sony is deploying a similar tactic with the the Xperia XA Ultra. While the Xperia X went from $549.99 to $499.99 in under two weeks, Sony this time around decided to wait the full two weeks before cutting their phablet’s price from $369.99 to $329.99.
Sony Mobile couldn’t be reached for comment but from what I’ve been told, due to both phones’ overwhelming success which has seem them sell in the hundreds, if not thousands (combined), Sony wanted to thank their fans with a price cut to encourage additional sales. Now keep in mind that this has nothing to do with them planning on defocusing on the US, an upcoming event where new models are expected, or the fact that all reviews have thought them to be too expensive.
Instead it’s Sony Mobile simply celebrating and giving back because they care about the US market so much and understand that in order to compete, you have to release overpriced devices to get the attention of the press. Otherwise, had they launched at their current prices, there might not have been as much coverage around them as most reviewers may have been satisfied with the features offered for the price.

Does the new pricing entice you enough to buy the Xperia XA Ultra?
