Android 7.0 Nougat is the latest major OS release from Google and like the year prior, Sony has launched a beta program to give users early access to it while they iron out the features. From Sony:
We’ve been working hard to bring this major update to as many of our devices as possible, as quickly as we can. We’re really excited about the new Sony features & functionality and the improvements we’ve made to the user experience – and we’ll be sharing more soon
According to Sony, the following phones will be receiving Android 7.0 Nougat
- Xperia Z3+
- Xperia Z4 Tablet
- Xperia Z5
- Xperia Z5 Compact
- Xperia Z5 Premium
- Xperia X
- Xperia XA
- Xperia XA Ultra
- Xperia X Performance
Though it obviously makes sense to include them, seeing how they’re barely a year old, it’s nice to see the entire Z5 series on there as well as the Z4 Tablet. Of course Sony has yet to commit to a specific timeframe though we could learn more during their IFA keynote in September.
