We always knew the Sony Xperia XZs would be coming to the US but it wasn’t quite clear in what capacity, when, and perhaps more importantly, the exact pricing of it. Now with a near imminent release date, all those details have come to light. Come April 5th, those eager for the Xperia XZs, an upgraded variant of the 2016 XZ will be able to get their hands on the new phone for $699.99 via Amazon. With no carrier support, you won’t be finding the XZs in typical stores though there is a chance the phone might pop up at Best Buy in the future. Even then, it will likely be limited to their online store.
One detail worth noting is that the US will receive the Xperia XZs Dual which is slightly different from the normal model, with 64GB internals versus the normal 32GB. The reasoning is because of their new dual hybrid SIM tray, you cannot use two SIMs and a microSD card. This likely won’t be a problem for most in the US, as it translates into a bigger internal memory and the ability to utilize a microSD card.
Like years before, Sony’s phone is based off of GSM which means when the XZs Dual arrives in Ice Blue, Warm Silver, and Black, you’ll be able to use it on either T-Mobile or AT&T. Still, it’s crazy to think this is all the fanfare the phone’s receiving and it’s set to launch in 2 days’ time. I know many of you are hopeful about Sony’s mobile ambitions within the US but no matter how fantastic of a phone, they cannot casually release info like this about a device and expect it to sell.
With that said, that Ice Blue is a pretty good looking color. What would be your choice?
