 improves the quality of the system performance 

However if you dig a bit deeper, the update brings with it

  • In tournaments, you can now view match results for each player.
  • This system software update improves system performance.

The update comes in at just 350MB, making it quick to download and install, though it’s not mandatory. For those wanting to download the update manually, you can do so directly from the PlayStation support site.
