Unscripted ‘Men in Black 3’ has Josh Brolin Interviews Will Smith

Men in Black 3 is shaping up to be a formidable summertime hit, landing as the number one movie at the box office. MiB 3 was able to score $72 million during the Memorial Day weekend, despite a 10 year absence in the franchise which finally dethroned The Avengers, after 3 weeks at number one. MiB 3 stars the charismatic and always charming Will Smith as agent J while Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin help play agent K, thanks to the films time travel plot. While during the build up to the films release, Sony Pictures marketing team did their best to have the stars front and center on as many shows and commercials as possible, its sometimes the little moments that slip away which turn out to be a gem.

Thanks to an unscripted AOL interview, we can see Josh Brolin interviewing Will Smith about his reaction if an alien invasion were to occur. Will whose starred in many alien blockbusters like Independence Day gave a response that caught his co-star off guard . Watch the interview now.

Lots of New ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Footage

Say you’re a Spider-Man fan and have already seen ‘Men in Black 3‘ the number one movie at the US and worldwide box office in IMAX 3D which included a 6-minute preview of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘ and still want more Spidey action. If this describes you in any shape or you just have an affinity for the web slinger, then we have good news for you. Sony Pictures has released a new trailer, revolving around Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) and Gwen Stacy’s (Emma Stone) relationship with a much more light-hearted tone at its center. With The Avengers already proving that you don’t need the cliche and dark tones of the upcoming The Dark Knight to be successful, the new ‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘ Australian trailer features a nice change of pace while demonstrating the incredible chemistry between the two young stars. It should go without saying that new footage means more spoilers for those who prefer to stay oblivious to the storyline and instead, want to hit theaters on July 3rd to watch the new saga unfold before their eyes.

Sony Pictures ‘Men in Black 3’ is in Theaters Today

Men in Black 3, the long awaited sequel in the MiB series is finally in theaters today which has Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones once again reprising their roles as Agent J and Agent K. This time around, Agent J travels in time to MIB’s early years in the 1960s so that he can stop an alien from assassinating his friend Agent K and changing history. Movie goers are given plenty of different options for their viewing experience which includes 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D. Those who opt for the IMAX 3D will also be treated to a 6-minute sneak peek at Sony Pictures other upcoming blockbuster, The Amazing Spider-Man.

MiB 3 also marks the return of Will Smith to the big screen, after taking a break in 2008 which saw him star in another Sony Pictures film, Seven Pounds. In 2013, Will Smith will once again be back with After Earth which will see the actors son, Jaden Smith star along side him. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense and Signs), the sci-fi film is tagged as “after a crash landing, a father and son explore an alien planet,” and will be released by Sony Pictures.

The big question now is, can Men in Black 3 finally take on Disney’s The Avengers after the film has dominated three consecutive weekends as the number film? New releases like Tim Burtons Dark Shadows and Peter Burgs Battleship have so far been unable to match the super-hero packed film and while the latest entry in the MiB series released 10 years ago in 2002.

Seeing how Will Smith is one of my favorite actors, I can tell you that I’ve already got my 3D tickets for tonight at the famous Arclight Hollywood Dome. After the jump, a good ol Men in Black music video.

See 6 Minutes of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ in Front of ‘Men in Black 3’ IMAX 3D Showings

Movie fans have something to be excited about this weekend as Will Smith makes a return to the big screen after a laying low since starring in ‘Seven Pounds‘ way back in 2008. Now, Big Willy is once again suiting up and returning as Agent J in Men in Black 3, which can be viewed in 2D, 3D, and 3D IMAX. With a lot of excitement around the film, Sony Pictures is taking the opportunity to build a little more buzz for the return of another one of their franchise properties, Spider-Man. The web slinging hero is scheduled to make his rebooted appearance on July 3rd, with an all new adventure and storyline which was shot in native 3D. To help wet viewers appetite, Sony has announced on their Facebook page that you can:

“See an exclusive 6-minute sneak peek of The Amazing Spider-Man when you experience Men In Black in IMAX 3D starting Thursday at Midnight!”

It should be noted that this isn’t limited to MIB 3 premiere night and the 6-minute preview of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘ will stay throughout the movie’s run in IMAX screens. Men in Black 3 premieres on Friday, May 25th.

New Men In Black 3 TV Spot

Sony Pictures has just released the 4th TV spot for the upcoming Men in Black 3. Starring Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and Josh Brolin who plays a younger agent K, the 3rd installment of the series is set to release on May 23rd in 3D.

Are you ready for Men in Black 3? The sequel which will once again unite agent J (Will Smith) and agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) is scheduled for release on May 25, 2012. With the date slowly beginning to creep up, Sony Pictures is beginning to oil their advertising machine and remind audiences with some fun new teaser posters which highlight the two agents with nothing but the movies titles.

If you pay close attention, you will also see a hidden URL (TheMenInBlackSuitsAreReal.com) in the midst of all all the writing. The URL currently takes you to a Facebook page that we can only assume will serve to further promote the film and interact with fans. After the jump, both posters in high resolution.

Men In Black 3 to Play in IMAX 3D

Sony Pictures, along with with Will Smith have long been in production of Men in Black 3. The 3rd installed in the franchise is slated to hit theaters worldwide on May 25 and will see the return of Will Smith as agent J and Tommy Lee Jones as agent K. Josh Brolin is also part of the films time travel plot which has agent J going back in time to save agent K which will than be played by Josh Brolin. The two films so far have grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office against an approximate combined budget of $230 million. To this affect, Sony Pictures is sparring no expense and wants to make sure that the films 3D will be shown properly. Part of this includes having the MIB 3 filmed in native 3D, instead of post conversation though that practice has come a long way in the last two years. To ensure an optimal viewing experience, Men in Black 3 will also open in IMAX 3D, a first for the franchise, even without the 3D aspect of it. Rory Bruer, VP of Sony Pictures went to say:

“Releasing a film in IMAX 3D signals an event release, and Men in Black III on Memorial Day weekend certainly qualifies in a big way. We couldn’t be more excited about how MIB III will look and sound in IMAX theatres.”

Sony Casts Jemaine Clement For Men In Black 3D

I’ve been bringing you steady news on Sony’s plan for Men In Black 3D. First, they got Will Smith back and then I told you the release date. Well, it’s now really looking like Sony is going full force on this film by now casting Jemaine Clement (well known for Flight of the Conchords). This now means this film has some great and wide ranging talent. Will Smith is the no brainer, but Sony was able to get Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin as well. The guys over at /Film have the full scoop but there is some spoiler related information about the 3rd film, so read at your own discretion.

Men in Black 3-D Set for May 25, 2012

So a week or so ago we talked about how Big Willy had signed on for a 3rd Men in Black which would be filmed in 3D. Well now, the movie also has a release date set for May 25th, 2012. Now thats going to be a crazy time for movies as The Avengers hits May 4, Battleship comes May 25. Other movies planned for the following weeks are Star Trek 2, the “peter-parker-told-differently”/” target=”_self”>Spider-Man reboot and Batman 3.

Sony Signs Will Smith For Men In Black 3D

There’s good news for Sony on the film front. Director Barry Sonnenfeld has said in a recent interview that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are set to return for a third Men in Black film that will be (of course!) in 3D. The news indicated that although only Will Smith has so far signed on, both actors will reprise their earlier roles. Other casting rumors suggest that Sasha Baron Cohen and Jemaine Clement will also be joining the cast.

I really hope that Sony pushes Barry Sonnefeld to, or that Barry will by choice film Men in Black 3 in 3D and stay away from post conversion and avert from the mess that was Clash of the Titans in 3D. Also, its nice for Sony to lock in Will Smith again. Will Smith and Sony have a long history of movies together (MIB, Bad Boys, Pursuit of Happyness, Hitch, Hancock). Now Will Smith is one of the last true big stars who has a sure audience. With Spider-man 4 soon to be released as a reboot of the series, Sony hasn’t recently had any big movies in the box office and Will Smith can help them to get back in the game.
