Ubisoft announced today that the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations multiplayer beta is coming exclusively to PS3. Of course, only PSN Plus subscribers get to play the beta when it hits the service on September 3rd. Hit the jump to learn more about the characters, maps, and modes made available for the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Beta.
Ubisoft has said that nine characters have been unlocked for use in the beta. All characters have differing animation as well as customizable abilities. These abilities (eight in total for the beta) can be unlocked through increases in rank. While many of the favorite abilities from AC: Brotherhood have returned, Ubisoft has added some new and deadly ones like tripwire and closure.
The available characters include:
- The Vanguard
- The Sentinel
- The Vizier
- The Thespian
- The Bombardier
- The Guardian
- The Tricskter
- The Champion
- The Deacon
Only three maps are made available for the beta, but rest assured that all are unlocked from the outset. Ubisoft promises that the level design will allow for more strategy and depth as compared to those found in AC: Brotherhood.
The available maps include:
- Antioch
- Constantinople
- Knight’s Hospital
And finally, four modes are available to play, including two AC: Brotherhood favorites: Wanted and Manhunt. The modes Deathmatch and Artifact Assault are new to the series and sound like they will be as intense or even moreso than the modes in AC: Brotherhood.
The Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Beta will arrive on PSN Plus September 3, 2011.
