Sony’s ‘Community’ Picked Up By Comedy Central in Syndication Deal

With the future of cult-hit sitcom ‘Community’ in jeopardy, a deal was recently made to give rights to Comedy Central to air the Sony Pictures Television-owned show. The deal gives Comedy Central the rights to air episodes from all three seasons of the show’s run.

According to broadcastingcable.com, Comedy Central’s executive VP of program strategy David Barnath had this to say about Community’s addition to there programming lineup:

“Within the chaos of the current media landscape we are fortunate that we live in a timeline where Community comes to Comedy Central. Our staff is celebrating with a game of paintball in the offices today.

‘Community’ recently returned after a long hiatus, with the show finishing its third season currently on NBC. Despite great ratings upon its return, Community has yet to be renewed for a fourth season.

Catch Troy, Abed, and the rest of the study group Thursdays at 8:00 PM on NBC.

Do you think Comedy Central should pick up a brand new fourth season of ‘Community’ or should the show try its luck on NBC?
