Insomniac Games, the long-time PlayStation exclusive developer of such game franchises like Resistance and Ratchet & Clank, parted ways with Sony last year. Under a new deal, the talented developers would turn their attention to multi-platform game development (i.e. PS3 and Xbox 360) with EA as their publisher. With both Resistance and the Ratchet & Clank IP belonging to Sony, IG would announce OverStrike, a new shooter as their first title. Little is known about the game and little has been shown which will surely change at this years E3. One thing that does seem final, however, is the game’s box art for the PlayStation 3, which can be seen above.

I’ve just been contacted by our friends at Insomniac Games, who’ve pointed us towards some new information. As it stands, the above box art is actually from a placeholder image released nearly a year ago when we first heard about this title and does not represent the final box art, which will surely change.
