Just a quick heads up for all you midnight PS4 owners. PSN is currently down which will stop you from gaming online or downloading the required PS4 System Update 1.5. The error in question seems to be NW-31453-6 and the message:

 The network connection has been lost. 

As Annoyed Gamer put it on Twitter:

 Probably not worth trying to connect to PSN tonight folks. Did SimCity, Diablo 3 & GTAOnline teach us nothing? 

Best recommendation for those who are trying to get on tonight is to catch up on some sleep and try in the morning because West Coast still hasn’t officially come online and that’s only going to hammer PSN more.

Sony on the matter:

 The PlayStation Network is currently experiencing extrememely high volume, some gamers may experience some difficulty connecting. We ask for your patience.

The service seems to be up and running for most but don’t be surprised if there is occasional downtime throughout the day.
