Without a doubt, the surprise game from the VGX award shows was No Man’s Sky by developer Hello Games. The same 4 man indie studio is also responsible for Joe Danger. Now comes news that due to a massive rain storm in the UK, the teams studio has “totally flooded.”
Oh god. Water moves really quick. Hello Games has been totally flooded. Everything in the office has pretty much been lost 🙁

A lifesize cardboard cut out of Joe Danger went floating past face down. Poor Joe. He’s taking this the worst.

Massive thanks to everyone who tried to help here today. We have learned that laptops float sometimes

Leaving now and letting firemen to help real people (all the houses around us with kids and xmas) – rather than us drowning to save a hdd 🙂

While it’s never good news to hear a developers office be struck with a disaster, the fact that it happened to such a well liked team on Christmas Eve makes it that much harder. No news on how or if at all this will affect No Man’s Sky. For those unfamiliar with the game, here is it’s debut trailer.
