New Sony RX100 With Larger Sensor On the Horizon?

Chock this up purely under the rumor category, but it’s believed that Sony is looking to update the RX100 in the near future, which by itself shouldn’t be a shocker. It’s believed that the next revision will offer a larger sensor than the current model and in doing so, will be slightly larger in size. Backing up the rumors is a new listing by Sony which features two new Four Thirds sized sensors with 16-megapixels and 20-megapixels.

More after the jump.

While the camera was initially expected to be announced alongside the HX90V and WX500, it’s believed that, due to heat issues from the BIONZ X processor, Sony has opted to take its time for more testing. Even if the camera is larger than the current RX100m3, it will still likely be smaller than the competition, most notably the Lumix LX100.
