We’ve already talked fairly extensively about PlayStation Vue, the internet based cable service from PlayStation. Just recently, Sony announced the availability of Vue in LA and SF, bringing the tally of conquered cities to 5. Rollout while slow is expected to ramp up to more cities by years end. Things are presumably slow because Sony included local channels and therefor must negotiate locally within each city.
Along side the expanded cities, Sony also revealed the ability to subscribe directly to specific channels without the requirement of a package and discount for PlayStation Plus members. Those details after the jump.
As it stands, there are three PlayStation Vue packages which start at $50. Starting in July, you to the following channels without a package with discount for PS+ members
- SHOWTIME: SHOWTIME will be available through PlayStation Vue in July for $10.99. If you’re a PlayStation Plus member, the monthly price is $8.99
- FOX Soccer Plus: Starting in August, Fox Soccer Plus will be available for $14.99. If you’re a PlayStation Plus member, the monthly price is $12.99
- Machinima: Machinima will be debuting their first premium TV channel on PlayStation Vue with exclusive content from Machinima‘s in house studio. The Machinima channel will be available later this summer through PlayStation Vue’s Elite package. The channel will also be available separately for $3.99 per month. For PlayStation Plus members, the monthly price is $1.99
To celebrate and help raise awareness for PlayStation Vue, Sony has put together a clever ad.

If available in your city, would you transition from cable to PlayStation Vue?
