As promised, Destiny 2.0 is now live for all Guardians on PlayStation. That means those playing Destiny on PS3 or PS4 will be booted from their gameplay in order for the mandatory update to be downloaded and installed. Preparing the game for the massive The Taken King DLC, Destiny 2.0 will bring with it it a lot of changes, including the removal of two features that you should be aware of. It’s worth noting that Destiny 2.0 takes up a ton of space on PS4 and even more on PS3. Those details after the jump.
Destiny 2.0 is going to require 18GB of free space on your PS4. Though massive, that’s not terrible, considering the PS4 launched with a 500GB hard drive which can easily be upgraded to larger sizes. The PS3, though easily upgradable like PS4, launched with a 20GB and 60GB hard drive models and requires even more space for Destiny 2.0. To be exact, the new update asks for around 20GB of free hard drive space but once downloaded and installed, it should only take up around 10GB of additional space.
Luckily Bungie knows that this will leave some players in a pickle. To that end, though vague, it seems like Bungie will do whatever they can to help you

Destiny 2.0 is a free download that’s now available on PS3 and PS4 and prepares the game for year 2 with Destiny: The Taken King launching on September 15th.
