To go along with the Xperia Z5 unveiling and hype, Sony has released a near 7-minute video where they put their latest flagship to the test. Hosted by Maddie Moate, a self proclaimed “technology presenter and YouTube educator,” we see the Xperia Z5 used in a series of differing real world scenarios like going down the streets of Berlin in a bumpy and colorful Trabant to help showcase the phones SteadyShot Intelligent Active Mode and 0.03s hybrid autofocus.
More after the jump, including the video.
From there, Maddie uses the phone’s 5x Clear image zoom, among other features, and truly puts the Z5 to the test in low-light situations. It’s worth pointing out that Maddie is not a independent reviewer as this is a promotional video by Sony. That’s not to say that what Sony is putting out here isn’t true but that you’re not going to obviously see what didn’t make the cut.
Still, these types of videos are what truly helps fuse the technology Sony is building into their smartphones and their real world applications versus what I called their ‘techfusing’ videos which appeared to be a TRON-esq techno babble fest. Ultimately I think these types of videos are what Sony needs to focus more on and it doesn’t hurt when you have a highly competent host. Though I wasn’t aware of Maddie before, it’s clear that she’s comfortable with tech which translates in her delivery and in turn, makes the video that much more compelling.

Do you think the results from the video above will translate to real world usage results?
