PlayStation VR Price and Release Date to Be Revealed in 2016

A big part of PAX included a series of new games for PlayStation VR, the upcoming addition to PS4. We’ve already known for some time that PS VR would arrive in 2016 but we’ve never been given a time frame or price for that matter. Now, Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that we’ll get both of those things, just not this year.

These things we are not able to show as yet. We are working hard to prepare for the reveal of these features that we haven’t been able to talk about [for] PlayStation VR, as well as of course pricing and release date and what do you get when you buy the system.

A bit more details after the jump.

It’s been confirmed in the past that PlayStation VR will arrive in the first half of 2016 which means between January and June. Sony has also gone on record that PS VR will be priced

 as a new gaming platform

That might be vague but it also means don’t expect a $199 price tag. If I was a betting man, I’d say $299 is where PS VR will land which allows Sony to gradually reduce the price over time like they have with PS4 as it gains more users and developer support.

Do you think you’ll give PlayStation VR a shot?
