When I’m not writing on SRN, chances are that I’m off driving to a client. For those who know LA, you’re probably aware of the traffic that can hit you at any time. That’s why in LA, we give distance via time and not miles. To that end, podcasts have turned into a bit of a drug for me. If I’m driving, I’m either listening to John Gruber on Daring Fireball or the hilarious gang at Hello Internet. If not them, then it could be Rene Ritche and crew at iMore, Science Friday, or countless other ones. Heck, even when I’m working out, I tend to listen to podcasts though I usually finish that off with a few epic tracks from some Marvel flick.
More about the podcast after the jump.
Suffice to say, I love podcasts – which brings me to this article. I’ve been kicking around the idea of doing a podcast for some time now. (Very long time readers will even remember that I did a few test podcasts a good 5 years ago.) But with the podcast comes a ton of questions:
- How often should the show air?
- How long should each episode be?
- Do you want a single host format? Multiple hosts?
- What should the format be?
- Covering the weeks news?
- Limited to Sony and PlayStation only?
- Expand to other tech topics?
- Do I want sounds and music for intro and specific pieces?
- Should it be more focused and time sensitive or let the show flow with less of a structure?
- What should the show be called?
These are just some of the large questions when it comes to creating a podcast. Beyond these, there is a whole host of questions that involve technical aspects like mics, RSS services, advertisement, etc. that still need to be answered. So I hope you take a minute and vote on the poll and leave your thoughts in the comment section below.

What would you like to see offered by SRN for a podcast? All other thoughts welcomed as well.
