By now, it’s no shock to hear that PS4 is doing well, and that thanks to a few stellar exclusives this year like Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the powerful console is expected to keep its momentum. That’s not even including additional experiences that will be provided by PlayStation VR. Researchers in fact believe that Sony will

 command a dominant position over the next five years

According to a new report from DFC Intelligence

 The PlayStation 4 installed base will eventually reach 100 million 

That’s fairly impressive in the hyper-competitive world that PS4 finds itself in. For context, this is the sales breakdown of the PlayStation family

• PS3 – 80 million (as of November 2, 2013)
• PS2 – 155 million (as of March 31, 2012)
• PSone – 102.49 million

Of course 2020 is still far off and a lot could change between now and then that could propel PS4 sales even higher or lower. After all, nobody two years ago would have predicted that PS4 would be so far ahead of Xbox One – and yet here we are.
