For those eager enough to see what changes Sony is looking to bring to PS4 with its next major update, you’ll be pleased to know that a public beta is on its way. Starting today,
you can sign up for a chance to be a beta tester and get an advance look at some of the improvements and new features coming to PS4.
Click here to sign up. You can register to be a beta tester anytime between today and the start of the beta in early August.
Specifically, you’ll be beta testing the PS4 system software update 4.0. It’s worth noting that with all beta software, it’s always hard to predict the final results so if you only have one primary PS4 and you rely on it, this beta may not be for you. However, if you don’t mind occasional bugginess or even a bricked console, these beta tests are always a good way to see what Sony has in store for the future of PS4 and an even better way to voice your opinion on what you’d like to see come next.
Luckily for testers, Sony is making it easy to go back to a more stable version by allowing you to
roll back to the previous system software, version 3.55, at any time.
