Yesterday we ran a piece on 9 new countries that are receiving the PlayStation Mobile store. For those not familiar, PlayStation Mobile is an effort on Sony’s part to expand the reach of the PlayStation brand beyond official PlayStation consoles and into the mobile world. In order for a device to be able to have access to the PlayStation Mobile store which includes indie and classic PSone games, the device in question must be PlayStation Certified. After the jump, the list of PlayStation Certified devices await you.

The PlayStation Mobile Store is to compatible Android devices, what the PlayStation Store is to official PlayStation devices. Conceived a few years ago, the PlayStation Mobile store allows for the purchase of smaller mobile games that run on PlayStation Certified devices like Sony’s Xperia line of smartphones, tablets, and even the PlayStation Vita. When initially launched, Sony even planed to bring the store and its content to iOS though those plans seem abandoned at this point.
Now, Sony is expanding the store to 9 new countries which can be found after the jump.
Sony Computer Entertainment President, Andrew House recently sat down to talk about PlayStation and the future of the console. While the PlayStation 4 has been off to a stellar start, House knows that a consoles final results are all about “a marathon” and “not a sprint.” To help drive his point, we need simply need to look at the PS3 which sold out during launch, only to struggle in the years to come with high prices and confused 3rd party developers who struggled to master the consoles powers unlike Sony’s internal studios. Fast forward 7 years and the PS3 is now ahead of the Xbox 360 which has enjoyed a lower price point throughout its lifespan and been on the market for an additional year. House believes that the PS4 will be no different and new IP will be one of the key factors that will once again separate PlayStation from Xbox.

Strength of the Sword 3 is a recently-released PlayStation 3 exclusive sword fighting game from the two-man studio Ivent Games. If you are anything like me, you might be curious as to how you missed the release of Strength of the Sword 1 and Strength of the Sword 2. The reason you haven’t heard of the first two games is quite simple; they do not exist. The creators have jokingly said that they do not believe in creating sequels to their games, so they have jumped to the conclusion of the trilogy right away. The humor of the developer is apparent throughout this very challenging game. Keep reading to see what I thought about the marriage of challenge and humor in my complete review.
The PlayStation 3 started its life with a bang and things quickly fell apart with low availability and a high price tag compared to the Xbox 360. Fast forward 7 years later and despite being out one year less than the 360 and continuing to garner a higher price tag, the PS3 is now well ahead of its competitor in sales. In fact, the PS3 has currently sold 81.08 million units while the 360 has sold 79.79 million units. Now SCE President Andrew House has spoken on the matter and believes that the PS4 will outsell its predecessor. His reasonings, after the jump.
Guerrilla Games has released Killzone: Shadow Fall v1.06 for your downloading pleasure. The relatively small patch comes in at just 86mb and should be an easy affair to download and install. The new update is designed to address game stability though we expect a full changelog will be released in the near future, detailing all the changes.
For those not fully tuned in, over the last week, there have been some drastic changes to the copyright policies on YouTube that has caused a rift between developers and gamers. Most of this fiasco started with Nintendo claiming copyright on gameplay video uploaded by YouTubers. Thanks to Google’s weak stance on this, this abused system automatically results on all ads being yanked from the video, which many rely on as a form of income, or a complete takedown of the video. The only chance the YouTuber has is to get a formal permission from the company and submit that to YouTube which is a daunting task on its own.
To make matters worse, developers like Blizzard and Capcom who have no trouble with gamers uploading their gameplay (which in reality helps promote their content for free) saw videos being claimed on their behalf, thanks to Google’s overzealous copyright filters built in. Even videos from famous game commentator Jim Sterling are being taken down because his use of game trailers.
Ah, new content claim. Again, none of my LPs. Just the Top Tens that use trailer footage. Probably gonna stop YT vids. This is boring to me.

Now, Naughty Dog, the developers behind Uncharted and The Last of Us have spoken up about the YouTube kerfuffle and their answer might not be what fans wanted to hear.

After the jump, the full list of changes await you.

One of the most talked about features of the PS4 is the ability for any gamer to broadcast their gameplay via the Share button on the all new Dualshock 4 controller. With just a few clicks, gamers can have their gameplay streamed and viewed through a host of devices, including the PS4, iOS/Android smartphones and tablets, and, of course, the web. Since launching a little over a month ago, PS4 gameplay now accounts for 10% of Twitch traffic, but it doesn’t end there.
Have you noticed any classic game that is missing from the launch of this console generation? WipeOut anyone? Besides being a favourite on console since the original PlayStation, the futuristic flier also became a very popular series with PSP and Vita fans. Sadly, the studio behind it, Sony Liverpool closed it’s doors in 2012. But now it appears that many of the big guns behind past studio hits are resurfacing as the new studio Firesprite and games are coming.
Studio Liverpool, previously named Psygnosis has produced some of the most influential hits in the PlayStation lifetime. Besides producing some of the most iconic and thrilling early PlayStation games, you may remember the awesome beats they rocked in WipeOut. It must be something in the water, Liverpool, UK also being home to the legendary dance nightclub brand Cream. Now that much of the old team is reborn under Firesprite, could we see more WipeOut and Formula One games?

The PlayStation 4 has only been on sale for a little more than two weeks, launching in 30 countries on November 29 after an extremely successful launch in the United States and Canada on November 15. More than a million consoles in North America in 24 hours was followed by the biggest launch in the history of UK video game consoles over the course of 48 hours. Today, Sony Computer Entertainment group CEO Andrew House announced via press release and on the PlayStation Blog that more than 2.1 million PS4s have been sold through to consumers globally.
Like the PlayStation 4 in the US, the PS4 has become the fastest selling console in UK history, beating rival Xbox One which sold 150K units. Previously, the record had been held by Sony’s PlayStation Portable which sold 180K units in its first week. It’s believed that the PS4 has broken the PSP’s record by a wide margin though specific sales numbers have yet to be revealed.
