We go hands on with PlayStation Remote Play to see if the feature is all that it’s cracked up to be. At launch, the system offered a single quality setting for streaming, and it has since been patched to include “High” and “Normal”. PC users will note that this does little to indicate what sort of resolution one can expect with each setting. My first impression of remote play was not a good one. However, I have tried it a few times since and have found gameplay to be acceptable. More on that after the jump.

Be it on PS3, PS4, or PS Vita, you simply cannot go wrong with a LittleBigPlanet game. The most recent entry, LittleBigPlanet 3, was released in fall for PS3 and PS4 with new gameplay modes and new characters. As it is with games with a heavy multiplayer core, the game hasn’t been without its fair share of problems which are likely only heightened by the fact that it had to be built on PS3 and PS4. While the PS4 can boast more robust graphics and physics alongside a much more modern architecture for online connectivity, the team behind the game likely couldn’t fully tap into it unless they created two separate projects at once; one for PS3 and one for PS4.
Now with LittleBigPlanet 3 Update 1.05, a massive amount of fixes are coming to both platforms with the PS4 patching coming in at 495MB while PS3 users get a break with just a 110MB download. After the jump, the full details.

Sony has just posted their Q3 2014 earnings which cover the September 1st and December 31st time period with some very positive results. While we’ve been unable to post a rosy picture of their electronics division as of late, PlayStation seems to be headed in the right direction. For the period, Sony sold a whopping 6.4 million PS4 units which have helped the division stay in the black, aka profitable. Over all, PlayStation was up 16.8% year-on-year.
After the jump, sales number from PS3 and PS Vita.

Destiny fans rejoice; thanks to a massive leak of images (48 to be exact), we’ve been able to get our first good look at House of Wolves, the upcoming DLC for PS3 and PS4 (and those other consoles). According to the leaked info, Destiny: House of Wolves will launch on May 19 where previous rumors had pegged a March timeframe. If true, it only means more time for the team at Bungie to work on the new DLC, which is just fine in my book. So what can we expected from the new DLC besides new zones and maps? How about a level 39 cap to go along with a slew of new gear. As it is with such things, take the rumors with a grain of salt as they are subject to change which is the same message Bungie has for gamers.
After the jump, the response from Bungie and the drool worthy images.
It’s no secret that, despite the success of PlayStation, most divisions in Sony are hurting. While their TV business has seen an uptick in recent years, it’s still following a decade of losses which isn’t an easy trend to erase. Mobile has also been disappointing to say the least for Sony where they accounted for less than 1% of smartphone activations in the US during Q4 2014. To focus their business, Sony has been selling parts of their business they no longer see relevant like VAIO and shutting other divisions like Music Unlimited. Just yesterday Sony also announced the sale of Sony Online Entertainment, the studio behind EverQuest and PlanetSide to name a few. On the heel of those announcements, Sony has revealed yet another closure and this time, it hits at the heart of the PlayStation nation.
Let’s talk details after the jump.

Final Fantasy XIV may have had a rocky launch when it was released a few years ago but that’s nothing but a distant and faded memory now. Released for well over a year, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has shaped to be a stellar MMORPG that was able to correct the errors of FF14 and effectively reboot the tale on PC, PS3, and PS4. Now Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn update 2.5 looks to finish out the story arc introduced in update 2.0 in an epic fashion that screams Final Fantasy.
Square Enix will release this saga in increments, starting with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Update 2.5 Part I which went live on January 20th. Then sometime in late February, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Update 2.51 will become available, bringing with it the Golden Saucer (yes that one) that appropriately includes mini games like Triple Triad, Cactuars, and Chocobo racing. Finally Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Update 2.5 Part II, which includes the ‘Keeper of the Lake’ dungeon, will make its debut sometime in late March.
After the jump, an epic 10 minute trailer awaits you which I highly recommend watching. Also recommended is a credit card in hard as you’ll surely be buying this game after watching the trailer.

One of the oddest things to see at CES 2015 was PlayStation Now running on Samsung televisions. For those unfamiliar, PlayStation Now is the gaming streaming app from Sony where you can play PS3 games without needing a console by either renting or subscribing to the service. Already available on PS3, PS4, and PS Vita, PlayStation Now continues to grow on the variety of platforms it’s offered on. Just at CES, Sony announced their new lineup of Blu-ray players which support PlayStation Now. Think about it, a Blu-ray player that not only plays your physical media like DVD/Blu-ray, but one that can stream from many services including Netflix, Hulu, and now game via PlayStation Now.
While bringing the service to the 2015 line of Sony 4K and HD televisions seems like a no brainer and one that Sony has done, coming to Samsung televisions is an entirely different thing.
Sony is celebrating 20 EPIC years of gaming with a huge PlayStation 20th Anniversary sales which gives users 75% off on the following games read for more!
