Welcome to the PlayStation Store update for November 4, 2014. We have a great update this week packed full of new content and sales. PlayStation 4 users can jump back into the phenomenon with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (also available for PS3) as well as Rocksmith 2014 and How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition.

PlayStation 3 users now have access to BlazeRush, Disney Infinity Revolution (also available for PS4), and Frozen Synapse Prime. PlayStation Vita owners now have access to the wonderful The Wolf Among Us (also available today for PS4) and Home – A Unique Horror Adventure.

Finally, as you are probably aware PlayStation Plus users now receive all of their free games at the beginning of the month and the free titles this month include The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (PS4//PS Vita), Frozen Synapse Prime (PS3), and Escape Plan (PS Vita/PS4). Sony Releases PlayStation Silver Wired Stereo Headset for PS4, PS3 & PS Vita

PlayStation_Silver_Wired_Stereo_HeadsetAs of today, you can order the PlayStation Silver Wired Stereo Headset for PS4, PS3, and PlayStation Vita. Unlike the PlayStation Gold Wireless Stereo Headset, as the name suggests, the Silver model is bound by wire to your console of choice. Once connect, you’ll be able to enjoy 7.1 virtual surround sound and chat online via the retractable boom mic. Taking a cue from the Gold series, the Silver edition will also be compatible with the Headset Companion App which allows you to download custom modes created exclusively for PlayStation by developers that are specifically tuned to enhance the audio in your favorite games.

Sony Brings Season Passes to Video Unlimited and PlayStation Store

Just last week, Sony finally brought season pass support to Video Unlimited and PlayStation Store. With season passes, users can purchase an entire season of a show, even prior to episode releases know that the episodes will be ready for them to consume once released. Season passes is already available on the PS3 through Video Unlimited and the PlayStation Store. Those on the PS4, and 2013 and later Bravia TV’s, and Blu-ray players will have to wait a little while longer with support for season passes on those devices ‘coming soon.’

PlayStation 3 owners can now hit the squared circle with WWE 2K15 and enjoy the quirky Costume Quest 2 (also available for PS4). PlayStation Vita users can now enjoy the highly anticipated Freedom Wars.

Finally, as you are probably aware PlayStation Plus users now receive all of their free games at the beginning of the month and all other weeks subscribers will receive extra discounts. With each new console release, companies tend to release the big juicy details about their latest in intervals to get the maximum exposure. While the big reveals and announcements usually revolve around the key functionalities of the product, in this case the PlayStation TV, they don’t always address the smaller details that can at times be the key for one person purchasing or not purchasing a given product. The PlayStation TV is no exception and despite its small size, there is a ton this companion unit can offer. Still, there is  no way it will please everyone and check off every item on our wish list at a $99 price point.

9 Things I’ve Learned About PlayStation TV

PlayStation_TV_2The PlayStation TV is officially out in North America, nearly a year after it was released in Japan under the name PS Vita TV. Capable of streaming games from PS4 and PlayStation Now, the PlayStation TV will have access to over 700 titles across the Vita, PSP digital, PS One classic, and PlayStation minis spectrum. After performing our video unboxing of the PlayStation TV, here are 9 interesting things I’ve learned about PlayStation TV during my first 24 hours with the companion console.

PlayStation 3 owners journey to Pandora’s Moon today in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and explore the terrifying The Evil Within (also available for PlayStation 4). PlayStation Vita owners can finally join in the survival/building craze with Minecraft PlayStation Vita Edition! 

Finally, as you are probably aware PlayStation Plus users now receive all of their free games at the beginning of the month and all other weeks subscribers will receive extra discounts. This week there are extra discounts for several new Ultimate Bundles as well as a deep discount on the very fun Strength of the Sword 3 (see our review here). PSA: PSN Will Be Down Today (October 13th)

If it reads October 13th on your calendar, then listen up. Parts of PSN will be down today for nearly 7 hours in order to allow Sony to deploy a series of back-end improvements to the network.” The down time will mostly affect PS3 and PS4 users while Sony tweaks things on the back end, meaning that no patches or system updates will be required. Luckily for gamers, the down time doesn’t affect most of the major functions like multiplayer. After the jump, we detail the services that will be affected.

Hugh Laurie Reunites With Stephen Fry In ‘LittleBigPlanet 3’

LittleBigPlanet has been a wonderful addition to the PlayStation catalog since Media Molecule debuted the original on the PlayStation 3 in 2008. Beyond the awesome creative tools and the cuteness of Sackboy, some of the great charm of the series lay in the narration of British comedy veteran Stephen Fry. With LittleBigPlanet 3 around the corner for PS4 and PS3, Fry is returning to narrate the adventures of Sackboy’s world, but he’s bringing along a few friends.

Welcome to the PlayStation Store update for September 30, 2014. We have a great update this week packed full of new content and sales. PlayStation 4 users now have access to Chariot and the extremely well reviewed Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor.

PlayStation 3 users now have access to Persona 4 Arena UltimaxShort Peace Ranko Movie and Falling Skies: The Game. Users of all 3 systems can now play the extremely difficult strategy RPG Natural Doctrine. 

Finally, as you are probably aware PlayStation Plus users now receive all of their free games at the beginning of the month and then receive extra discounts as the month progresses. Discounts this week include titles from Konami including the Metal Gear franchise and the wonderful PS1 RPG Suikoden.

PlayStation Home to Come to An End On March 31

PlayStation Home started its closure tour in Asia and come early 2015, the service will bow out in Europe and North America as well. According to Sony, due to a shifting landscape, PlayStation Home will officially End of Line on March 31st, 2015. Come Nov. 12th, 2014, Sony will cease content publication and by December 3rd, 2014, all sales of virtual goods will be halted. Despite those deadlines, Sony still has some things planned for PlayStation Home members and spoke about the prospects of it coming to the PS4.

PlayStation 3 users get several RPGs in Ar nosurge: Ode to An Unborn StarArcana Heart 3: Lovemax!!!, and Resonance of Fate. Users of all 3 systems can now play the newest edition of the hyper popular franchise, FIFA 15.
