Destiny Update 2.0 Will Bring Major Changes to Exotic Weapons

Destiny_Gjallarhorn

Along side the heavily anticipated The Taken King DLC will be Destiny update 2.0 and with it will come some major changes to weapons and in turn, likely change the way you play the game. Bungie has heard our complaints loud and clear and auto rifles will once again become more powerful and finally useful again.

Auto Rifle:

  • Increase base damage
  • Start damage falloff closer to the player to emphasize its role as a close to medium range weapon
  • Small reduction in base stability. Landing shots at optimal range is unaffected, but repeated precision hits require more weapon control to land consistently
  • Boost damage by 10% against AI combatants

Along side tweaks to the auto rifle and other normal weapons in your arsenal, Bungie is making major tweaks to exotic weapons like Gjallarhorn, Thorn, and Ice Breaker. After the jump, the full break down of weapons in Destiny Update 2.0.

PS4_Uncharted_2

We might not be getting Uncharted 4 until 2016, but that doesn’t mean Nathan Drake isn’t coming to PS4 sooner. In fact, Uncharted is coming to PS4 via Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection which features all three previous titles that will run at 1080p/60fps with better lighting, textures, and models. Besides better visuals, all three games will include ‘Photo Mode’ and new trophies.

Limited Edition ‘Destiny: The Taken King’ PS4 Bundle is Beautiful

PS4_Destiny_The_Taken_King_1

While a little late to this story, it’s one that I’ve been wanting to cover. If you know me at all, you’ll know that Destiny is one of my favorite games (of all time?). Between running SRN and a few other projects, Destiny gives me the right balance between long gameplay (hello Crota on hard) and a quick, jump in, play, and get out in 15 minutes while having done something to advance in the game (thinking Roc strikes though Prison of Elders is even better if you have a bit more time).

Because of that, I’m super excited to see that Sony and Bungie are teaming up and releasing a limited edition Destiny: The Taken King PS4 bundle. Now let’s talk details after the jump.

Bungie Outlines ‘Destiny: The Taken King’ a Bit More

Destiny_The_Taken_King_White

There is still a lot we don’t know about The Taken King, the latest Destiny DLC. Coming in at $40, many have questioned the higher price tag when typical DLC prices range between $15-$30. Since its reveal, Bungie has insisted that The Taken King is different than traditional DLC, even their own past two DLCs, which includes The Dark Below and the very well-received House of Wolves. While still not giving away everything there is to know about The Taken King, Bungie has just revealed a ton of new information which will surely please Destiny fans.

Naughty Dog’s Josh Scherr Ask You to Perhaps Not Watch the ‘Uncharted 4’ Extended Demo

Naughty_Dog_Josh_Scherr

At E3, we were all spoiled by the Uncharted 4 vehicle chase gameplay which was a near 7-minute sequence that not only showcased the power of the PS4, but the wizardry of Naughty Dog. On the show floor, Naughty Dog also demoed an extended gameplay which continued where the 7-minute stage sequence ended.

Those who were lucky enough to see it have unanimously agreed that what takes place after is even crazier and more ambitious, and now Naughty Dog will be releasing the extended look for all of our viewing pleasure. Thing is, Josh Scherr thinks you might be best served by not watching it.

The Jaw-Dropping Gameplay from ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ in 1080p

Horizen_Event_Zero_03

Prior to E3, everybody had an inkling that Guerrilla Games, the devs behind Killzone, were working on a new IP for PlayStation. Beyond that, little was known about the game, including the genre, seeing how until now, GG was best known for their FPS titles. Since that time, we’ve come to know their new game as Horizon: Zero Dawn. Set in an open world where nature has reclaimed the ruins of a forgotten civilization, Horizon: Zero Dawn features a female lead that’s not all that unfamiliar to PlayStation fans who may have played Enslaved.

After the jump, check out the gorgeous trailer, which shows off the power of the PS4 and the beautiful world Guerrilla Games has created.

Long Time ‘Destiny’ Players to Receive “Something Better” Than The Taken King Collector’s Edition Perks

Destiny_The_Taken_King

In Destiny land, there’s been some brouhaha about the upcoming mega DLC, The Taken King. As a quick recap, Bungie will release Destiny: The Taken King on September 15th for $39.99. While a bit steep for DLC, this isn’t any normal DLC.

With The Taken King, Bungie is offering new subclasses, stories, strikes, and raids along side new weapons and armor. For most hardcore fans, the DLC price in fact isn’t an issue as the onslaught of new content is a welcomed thing. The sticking point instead is the inclusion of three emotes that will be available exclusively in the collector’s edition which includes the game and previous two DLC and in turn, means you’re repurchasing content you already own.

Fear now however as Bungie isn’t forgetting those who’ve been on Destiny from day one.

‘Uncharted 4’ Vehicle Chase Gameplay

E3_2015_Uncharted_4_Driving_1
I’m not even sure what to write here because surely anything I say will not due justice to the amount of work and visual wonder that’s on display. Shown at the end of the Sony’s E3 2015 press conference, the Uncharted 4 vehicle chase gameplay is a near 7 minute sequence that not only showcases the power of the PS4, but the wizardry of Naughty Dog.

After the jump, I hope you take the time to click the HD button on the trailer and watch it through. Once you’re done and you’ve picked up your jaw from the floor, rewatch the video again and look for the small details like bullets ripping through sandbags which causes the bags to slowly spill out sand or the small interactions of Drake & Sully as he drives through destroys the city.

Arabic Support Comes to PlayStation Store

PlayStation_Store_Arabic

It’s always a good sign when a service you like expands to new regions and supports other popular languages. From a business standpoint, the more countries and languages that PlayStation can support means the more people who will easily have access to Sony’s content which in turn means higher sales. For gamers, it means we get to share our passion with others and a healthy Sony is only good for us as it translates to more money to invest in the brand we’re all supporting.

Now, the PlayStation Store has added another language to its arsenal: Arabic.
